Chyler Leigh

'Girls Club'

Move over Ally: Here comes Sarah Mickle.

She’s sarcastic, impetuous and easy on the eyes. Also a dedicated lawyer and environmental rights advocate, Chyler Leigh’s Mickle is a card-carrying member of “Girls Club,” which takes over “Ally McBeal’s” 9 p.m. Monday timeslot on Fox.

While “Ally” comparisons are inevitable, Leigh believes the two quirky legal dramas are completely different. “Girls Club” revolves around a trio of young women lawyers in San Francisco who’ve been best friends for years. Showrunner David E. Kelley explores what Leigh calls “the trials and tribulations of being a woman in a male-dominated world.”

Leigh appeared in the short-lived skein “That ’80s Show” and made her feature debut in the parody pic “Not Another Teen Movie.” She never intended to become a thesp. “I wanted to join Greenpeace and save the whales,” she says. Ironically, just like Sarah Mickle.
