The critics speak

Daily Variety asked several dozen TV critics across the nation to register their opinion on hourlong dramas throughout the history of the medium.

Not surprisingly, the saga of an overweight New Jersey dad in the waste management business garnered strong reaction while Joss Whedon will be happy to learn that, although the Emmys have never been kind to “Buffy,” the critics think otherwise.
