The crowd at Tuesday’s Disney world premiere of “The Rookie” included Little Leaguers and grown-ups alike seeking autographs from a cavalcade of Hall of Famers.
The kid-friendly event for the G-rated pic continued at a party at the ESPN Zone restaurant.
“I feel like a kid in a candy store,” beamed tyro helmer John Lee Hancock amid a banquet of oversized lollipops, licorice and other sugary confections. “I got to meet all these major league ball players today.”
Said pic’s star Dennis Quaid, a Lone Star State native like Hancock, “It’s a Texas story and a universal story — a movie about second chances.”
Spotted in the crowd were newly anointed Disney chief Richard Cook and pic prexy Nina Jacobson; “Rookie” producer Mark Johnson; pic’s real-life subject, Jim Morris; director Spike Lee; and jocks Dave Winfield, Jim Shea and Michelle Kwan.
