Brits squire Esquire’s 50

Beckham holds top spot of mag's Sharpest Men in Britain

LONDON — Thesp Damien Lewis and Harpers & Queen magazine’s social scenester Henrietta Dups were among the celebrants at Esquire (U.K.) magazine’s 50 Sharpest Men in Britain party in London on Aug. 19.

Lewis, listed at No. 31 on the top 50, went directly from the Bank restaurant party site to the London set of BBC’s “Jeffrey Archer — The Truth,” a satirical take on imprisoned Brit politico-novelist Jeffrey Archer, played by Lewis.

The 50 feature has become the centerpiece of Esquire U.K.’s annual mammoth fashion issue. Top spot this year was held by soccer hero/social icon David Beckham.
