Panel faces recent problems for int'l distributors

International TV distributors grappled with the tricky issues facing the biz during a panel Friday in Hollywood organized by the International arm of ATAS, newly named the International Academy. Among the problems discussed were the shrinking slots for U.S. shows abroad and the bankruptcies of several foreign pay TV operations,

Panelists included Ele Juarez of Telefonica, Carlton America’s Steve Davis, Mark Kaner of Fox, Farrell Meisel of MediaCorp Singapore and DreamWorks’ Hal Richardson.

The panel was moderated by Dick Lippin of the Lippin Group.
