Mildred Berkowitz

Executive assistant

Mildred Berkowitz, a longtime entertainment industry executive assistant, died Dec. 15, of emphysema in Los Angeles. She was 81.

A native of Omaha, she joined Fox’s publicity department in the early 1950s and a few years later left to work for the U.S. government in foreign service.

During the 1970s, she resurfaced at Fox where she worked for studio executive Jay Kanter until her retirement in August of last year.

She is survived by three nephews.
