Hela Young, TV hostess for New Jersey Lottery, a former Miss New Jersey and a former actress, died Sunday Feb. 24 in Montainside, N.J., after a long illness Age was not disclosed.
Young gave the nightly lottery drawings for 24 years, but stopped in November because of illness.
She was born Hela Yungst and began her career with commercials for Ragu spaghetti sauce and appearances on soap operas, including “Guiding Light” and “All My Children.” She was crowned Miss New Jersey in the early 1970s.
Young and husband Peter Hochman co-founded HYH Consulting, which conducts workshops on proper business etiquette and skills training.
Her husband survives her.
