Chris Ju Zhang

Sales executive

Chris Ju Zhang, longtime sales executive for many of the entertainment distribution companies including Polygram, Universal and Saban in the Asian market, died Sept. 1 of unreported causes at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. She was 46.

She graduated from Beijing U. of Foreign Studies majoring in English literature and international studies. She became a flight attendant for Air China and later became a contract negotiator for the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

In 1992 she switched careers by becoming public relations manager for Sinovision in New York, where she negotiated and sold ESPN programs to Chinese TV stations. She then joined Grupo Televisa, where she assisted in developing new markets and worked in similar executive positions for Universal and Saban.

She is survived by a teenage daughter, sister and a niece.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Forest Lawn, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles.
