Broadway performer and choreographer

Chad Block, Broadway performer and choreographer who appeared in several productions between the 1950s and 1970s, died as a result of a stroke June 18 at a hospital in San Clemente, Calif. He was 66.

Block’s resume includes “Li’l Abner,” “Destry Rides Again,” “Do Re Mi,” “Come on Strong,” “Coco” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”

His later career included directing, acting and choreographing for industrial shows and commercials. He also made guest appearances on several TV series including “Dynasty” and “MacGyver.”

Block is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carmen; two sons; and five grandchildren.
