Woods to replace IATSE exec

Treasurer Proscia has been a union member for 45 yrs.

The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees has announced that longtime general secretary treasurer Michael W. Proscia is retiring, to be succeeded by James B. Wood.

Moves were made during last week’s exec board meeting in Vancouver.

Proscia has been a member of IATSE for over 45 years. He was elected in 1980 as an international vice president of the union, a position that he held until he was elected general secretary treasurer in 1994. He will remain as assistant to the president, working on special assignments from prexy Thomas Short.

Wood has been an IATSE member for 23 years and has been 6th VP and director of Canadian affairs. Mimi Wolch, business agent for Toronto’s Local 873, was elected to fill the vacancy created by Wood upon his acceptance of the new post.
