VNU measures Wing

Exec named Nielsen Ent. CEO-prexy

HOLLYWOOD — VNU Media Measurement and Information has upped Andy Wing to the post of prexy and CEO of Nielsen Entertainment.

Wing, who previously served as ACNielsen’s managing director of Entertainment, will now oversee all branches of Nielsen Entertainment, including Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), Nielsen EDI, Nielsen Entertainment Marketing Solutions (EMS), Nielsen NRG, Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen VideoScan, Nielsen BookScan and Nielsen ReelResearch.

He will also be charged with growing the core businesses Stateside, further expanding the business internationally and leveraging other VNU assets to develop innovative products and services in partnership with the entertainment industry.

“We are extremely pleased to have Andy lead this portfolio of ‘gold standard’ companies and brands, which recently has been brought together to provide entertainment clients with unmatched expertise and global resources,” said Michael P. Connors, chairman and chief executive officer of VNU.

“Andy’s extensive background in marketing, finance, sports and entertainment make him the ideal person to lead Nielsen Entertainment, and we’re confident that he will leverage the best each business has to offer to better serve the growing information needs of the global entertainment industry,” Connors continued.

Based in New York and Hollywood, Wing has previously held senior management posts with American Express, Avon Products and Deloitte Haskins & Sells.
