PARIS — The MIP television markets are losing their topper of the past three years, Reed Midem’s TV division director Michael Weatherseed.
“I’ve enjoyed working here but it’s time for a change. It’s a personal decision,” Weatherseed told Daily Variety Monday.
The recent Mipcom mart was his seventh and last confab — he will quit at the end of this month. Reed Midem has yet to recruit his replacement.
Company topper Xavier Roy also retires in December, handing over the reins to managing director Paul Zilk.
The changes come at a challenging time for Reed Midem as its international trade markets continue to suffer the effects of global economic gloom.
The exhibition organizer recently announced that next year’s Milia multimedia and interactive mart will shift from its standalone slot in February to run concurrently with MIP TV.
Milia will take place March 26-28, while the TV mart, which celebrates its 40th anniversary, runs March 24-28.
