In the latest corporate shuffle within Los Angeles’ TV news ranks, KNBC has let go three of its top executives. Assistant news director Jamie Foster, managing editor Jim Huntington and executive producer Stacy Scholder were all told to leave Monday.
The collective move follows last year’s installment of Kimberly Godwin as the NBC affil’s new VP, news director. Godwin filled the shoes of the departed Nancy Bauer-Gonzales, who now heads up news operations at KCAL.
“At this time, we do not foresee any additional news management changes,” a KNBC spokesman said. “We are in the process of identifying potential replacement candidates. A decision regarding interim managers has not been made.”
Station execs declined to comment further on the shakeup. But it’s likely that the exits are fallout from KNBC’s changed news leadership. As is often the case when companies hire new management, Godwin may be looking to hire people of her own choosing.
