Pubcaster ZDF’s Helmut Reitze has been named topper at regional pubcaster Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and will take up the post in May when Klaus Berg retires.

Frankfurt-based HR is one of eight regional broadcasters that form nationwide pubcaster ARD. Reitze, 50, has been with ZDF for 15 years in many roles including political correspondent in Washington and Brussels, as news anchorman and recently as deputy editor in chief. He has been elected for five years.
