Alex Weinberger has been upped to exec director, comedy series, and Nina Howie and Jodie Platt have been upped to directors at Touchstone Television, prexy Stephen McPherson announced. On the company’s drama side, Josh Barry was upped to exec director, drama series.
Weinberger, Howie and Platt will still be responsible for managing new comedy series development and overseeing current shows, and will report to comedy series veep Julia Franz. Barry, who is overseeing Touchstone mid-season replacement “Veritas,” will be responsible for managing new drama series development and will report to drama series veep Suzanne Patmore.
“I have the best comedy and drama teams in town, and these promotions are a well-deserved reflection of Alex, Josh, Nina and Jodie’s hard work and talent,” McPherson said.
Prior to joining Touchstone, Weinberger served as manager, comedy series at ABC before moving to Mohawk Prods. Howie worked at the Cloudland Co., and Platt previously served as comedy series coordinator at ABC. All three joined Touchstone in 2000.
Barry, who also joined the company in 2000, previously worked at Harparbar, where he developed TV, film and stage projects. Before that, he held a post at Steven Bochco Prods.
