CBS will keep the doors open at “Presidio Med” for the remainder of the season.
The Warner Bros. TV drama recently moved off life support, as Eye execs moved toward giving the show a full back-nine order (Daily Variety, Nov. 21).
As part of the pickup, CBS will preempt “Presidio Med” through the end of December and relaunch the show with a new marketing campaign in January.
In the meantime, now that the November sweeps appear destined for some photo finishes, the Eye has opted to yank its previously scheduled episode of “Presidio Med” next Wednesday — the final night of sweeps — and replace it with a “CSI” repeat.
“Presidio Med,” which comes from Lydia Woodward Prods. and John Wells Prods., is exec produced by Wells, Woodward and Chris Chulack. Series stars Blythe Danner and Dana Delany as doctors at a San Francisco-based medical group. Anna Deavere Smith, Sasha Alexander, Julianne Nicholson, Oded Fehr and Paul Blackthorne also star.
Season to date, “Presidio Med” has averaged a 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.3 million viewers overall through seven episodes. With this order, CBS has determined the fate of all of its freshmen series except for cop drama “Robbery Homicide Division.”
