Peacock, Alphabet pick up ensemble laffers

Scribes Jay Scherick and David Ronn (“Spin City”) have sold sitcom scripts to NBC and ABC.

Both projects come from Touchstone Television, where the BWCS-repped scribes hold an overall deal.

Peacock project, described as an adult ensemble comedy about a group of siblings, comes attached with a hefty penalty if NBC doesn’t go forward. Scherick and Ronn will exec produce along with former Imagine TV exec Nena Rodrigue, who partnered with the duo on last year’s ABC pilot “Couples.”

Over at the Alphabet, the duo have sold a script about a group of male friends. Project will be exec produced by Scherick and Ronn along with Flody Suarez’s Flody Co. (“8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter”).

Beyond their TV credits, Scherick and Ronn penned the upcoming features “I Spy” and “National Security,” latter starring Martin Lawrence. They also wrote the recent release “Serving Sara,” starring Matthew Perry and Elizabeth Hurley.
