Cheadle’s ‘ER’ resident

Thesp's episodes likely to air during sweeps

Veteran thesp Don Cheadle (“Traffic”) is checking into “ER.”

Emmy-nominated Cheadle has signed on for a four-episode guest starring arc on the Warner Bros. TV-produced drama, which begins its ninth season on NBC next month. Thesp will play a med student whose surgical internship brings him to Chicago.

Cheadle’s episodes will likely air during the November sweeps.

Cheadle’s long list of feature credits include “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Boogie Nights,” “Out of Sight,” “Swordfish” and “Bulworth.” He’s also no stranger to television, having been a regular on both “Picket Fences” and “Golden Girls” spinoff “The Golden Palace.”

Thesp is also a current Emmy nominee for his role in the Showtime telepic “Things Behind the Sun.” He’s repped by CAA and Liberman Zerman Management.
