‘Cedric’ lands laff talent

Dunnigan to bring along his comedy characters

Kyle Dunnigan will join Fox sketch-variety showcase “Cedric the Entertainer Presents” as a series regular.

The comedian and actor, who was featured in Comedy Central’s standup series “Premium Blend,” will tape his first episode in mid-December.

Dunnigan, who is repped by UTA and managed by Messina/Baker, is known for creating unique characters, and some of his original alter egos are likely to be incorporated into the series.

The Fox network recently picked up a full-season order of the frosh series (Daily Variety, Nov. 15). “Cedric,” from 20th Century Fox TV, is led by the comedian known as Cedric “the Entertainer.”

The series has become the No. 1 series in all of primetime among African-American homes and adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.

Matt Wickline and John Bowman write and executive produce. Stan Lathan exec produces and directs and Cedric also exec produces the show.
