Five distribution vice presidents at Sony Pictures Releasing and Canadian affiliate Columbia TriStar Films of Canada have been elevated to senior VP.
Announcement was made by Jeff Blake, president, worldwide marketing & distribution, Columbia TriStar Films of Canada and Rory Bruer, president of domestic distribution, Sony Pictures Releasing.
They are: Jim Amos, senior VP distribution, Eastern Division; Michael Brooker, senior VP distribution, Canada; Adrian Smith, senior VP distribution, Western Division; Terry Tharpe, senior VP distribution, Southern Division; Sherm Wood, senior VP, Midwest Division.
As senior members of the North American distribution team, Amos, Brooker, Smith, Tharpe and Wood are responsible for the distribution of all Columbia, Revolution Studios and Screen Gems titles.
This starts with the fourth quarter releases “Swept Away” starring Madonna; Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Punch Drunk Love” starring Adam Sandler; “Formula 51” starring Samuel L. Jackson; “I Spy,” starring Eddie Murphy; “Half Past Dead,” starring Steven Seagal; Sandler’s animated “Eight Crazy Nights”; Spike Jonze’s “Adaptation,” starring Nicolas Cage; and “Maid in Manhattan,” starring Jennifer Lopez.
