Bennett bent on Lampoon

Burly Bear college net going 'National'

Former iUniverse and Macmillan Publishing exec Douglas Bennett has been tapped executive VP for National Lampoon. Bennett will oversee day-to-day operations of the magazine-to-movies comedy group.

Lampoon recently acquired the Burly Bear college campus TV network, renaming it National Lampoon Network as part of its efforts to re-energize the brand.

Bennett was most recently prexy and chief operating officer of indie book publisher iUniverse Inc. and before that was prexy of Macmillan USA.

Thirty-year-old Lampoon is actively developing feature films, television programming, interactive entertainment, homevideo, comedy audio CDs and book publishing.
