Artisan crafts moves up for finance exex

Accounting division gets chief officer, controller

Artisan Entertainment has promoted two senior executives in its finance department. Greg Arvesen has been promoted to exec VP-chief accounting officer, Deborah Wettstein to VP of finance and controller.

Arvesen will continue to report directly to Artisan Entertainment prexy and chief operating officer Ken Schapiro. Wettstein will report to Arvesen.

“Greg has been an integral part of building the finance and accounting departments of the company, and he will take on additional responsibilities now that we have completed the renewal of our credit lines,” said Schapiro. “Deborah’s proficiency in managing accounting and financial activities has been instrumental in our day-to-day operations.”

Arvesen will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting operations, including managing the annual budgeting process; directing financial performance analysis; reporting results and information to lenders, investors and senior management; and leading the company’s treasury, tax, audit and third party accounting activities.

Previously, Arvesen was senior VP of finance for Artisan. Before joining Artisan he served as senior veep and treasurer at Orion Pictures.

Wettstein will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting as well as the financial administration of the company’s output deals with its various distribution partners.

Before joining Artisan as director of financial planning in 1999, Wettstein held positions in distribution and finance at Morgan Creek Intl.
