HOLLYWOOD — ABC Entertainment has promoted development exec Julie McNamara to vice president of drama programming.
McNamara, who reports to drama senior VP Thom Sherman, will continue to handle drama development and series for ABC’s primetime sked.
The exec, who until recently went by the name Julie Pinchuk, most recently developed this fall’s new entries “Push, Nevada” and “That Was Then.” Her credits also include helping develop ABC’s “Alias” and 2000’s “Gideon’s Crossing.”
“Julie is one of the most talented, dynamic creative executives in town, as evidenced by her rapid ascent through the ranks at ABC,” Sherman said.
McNamara was most recently executive director of drama series. She joined the net in 1997 as an assistant, steadily moving up the ranks in the drama department.
She joined ABC from New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, where she served as assistant to the president. She also worked with the Standard newspaper in Nairobi, Kenya.
