Vinters support Philharmonic's Music Matters program

Almost 400 wine and food enthusiasts sampled wines from more than 80 Napa Valley wineries Wednesday to support the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Music Matters program, a fund that benefits music education.

“It’s like a two-week trip to Napa,” Richa Frank, owner of Frank Family Vineyards and former Disney Studios president, said as he looked down the long line of tables on the mezzanine foyer in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Following the tasting and a silent auction, guests were treated to a five-course dinner prepared by five of L.A.’s finest chefs: Joachim Splichal and Walter Manzke of Patina; Josiah Citrin of Melisse; Michael Cimarusti of Water Grill; Nicola Mastronardi of Vincenti; and Octavio Becerra of Pinot Bistro.
