The Screen Actors Guild has tapped Beverley Kite for the new post of chief informational officer.
Appointment comes three months after guild leaders authorized a $4.4 million upgrade of information technology systems and infrastructure. SAG recently admitted that tech glitches have stalled delivery of residual checks to members by as much as three months.
Kite most recently had been VP of e-business at the IT division of Washington Mutual, managing the creation of architecture for the bank’s online properties. She will report to chief financial officer Francesca Hickson.
“Beverley’s immeasurable technological experience together with her acute management expertise will hoist SAG immediately toward its goal of shifting process to service,” Hickson said. “SAG can immediately address the priorities of establishing more efficient residual processing, online automation and interactive member services.”
“My passion has always been creating a successful convergence between the world of technology and the entertainment industry,” Kite said. “I look forward to merging these skills to achieve the goal of using technology to the most effective degree to protect and enhance the interests of SAG’s members.”
