Bob Gold & Associates, an L.A.-based boutique PR firm specializing in communications convergence, last week announced its acquisition of five company clients rooted in the cable, broadband and telecommunications industries.
The firm will help manage the PR, advertising and marketing for “BroadbandPlus — the New Western Show,” the world’s second-largest cable industry tradeshow, for the California Cable & Telecommunications Assn. Other new clients are ICTV, creator of HeadendWare; iVast, a leader in end-to-end MPEG-4 solutions; SeaChange Intl., a TV industry leader in digital video systems; and Optinel Systems, a provider of optical communications systems for the cable market.
Agency principal Bob Gold, who founded the praisery in 1997, noted in a statement that while PR agencies are currently experiencing “one of the toughest of times,” they have won significant business. “By staying focused on our core strengths and niche business expertise, we have succeeded in attracting companies with a rich and diverse set of PR and marketing needs,” he said.
The agency’s cable industry clients include ESPN, Pioneer Electronics and Ceon.
