Fox Broadcasting exec vice president/chief financial officer Del Mayberry will now also handle similar duties at the Fox Cable Network Group.
Mayberry has been named exec VP and CFO of Fox Networks Group, the newly formed entity that encompasses the non-programming functions of the Fox network and its 30 sister cable and satellite networks.
Move comes three months after Fox Networks Group president/CEO Tony Vinciquerra, who until recently served solely as Fox Broadcasting prexy, took on the additional Fox Cable Networks oversight and the new umbrella title. Mayberry will report to Vinciquerra, who made the announcement Thursday.
Vinciquerra opted to give Mayberry the additional cable stripes rather than fill the Fox Cable Network Group’s chief financial officer seat, which had been vacant since Andy Mandell left the company more than a year ago.
“Del’s a very capable guy, so I thought, ‘why not just put all of the finance functions under his direction?’ ” Vinciquerra said. “We have very capable people both at the cable group and the broadcast network who support him as well.”
Under Vinciquerra, many of the broadcast and cable nets’ back office operations have already started working together. The exec said he may eventually merge additional operations between the broadcast web and cable nets, but that he’s not rushing to make major changes.
“We want to do this in a very deliberate, thought-out way,” he said.
