Jon Abrahams (“Meet the Parents,” “Scary Movie”) has passed the casting test for Fox’s “Boston Public,” while a pair of series regulars have joined NBC’s new retro series “American Dreams.”
Deals came together Tuesday as the networks continued to tweak their new and returning shows for the fall.
Abrahams will play a teacher at the heart of drama “Boston Public,” which enters its third season this fall. Abrahams joins former New Kids on the Block member Joey MacIntyre, who signed on in May to play another teacher.
David E. Kelley Prods. produces the show in association with 20th Century Fox Television.
Jonathan Adams and Arlen Escarpeta, meanwhile, have joined the cast of “American Dreams.”
Adams will play a man who works in an electronics store owned by the father (Tom Verica) of the family at the core of the show.
Escarpeta portrays the son of Adams’ character, who gets a scholarship to run track at the school attended by the core family’s teen siblings (Will Estes and Brittany Snow).
NBC Studios and Universal Television produce.
