Two heavyweights in the music publishing world tapped new executives to oversee their financial affairs Monday.
Warner-Chappell Music named Warner Music Group veteran Nick Thomas to the post of chief financial officer, based in Los Angeles and reporting to Warner-Chappell chief exec Les Bider. Thomas will run all global financial operations at the musicpub giant.
Thomas most recently was WMI’s vice president and controller, under division CFO Brian Porritt. Before signing on, he worked as finance director at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, a London-based arm of advertising giant Young & Rubicam.
Separately, the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers appointed Bob Candela as veepee and financial chief of the org’s Performing Rights Group, overseeing all of the division’s financial functions.
Candela, a 12-year ASCAP veteran, most recently was VP and controller. He joined the org as director of accounting and later was promoted to assistant VP of budgeting and finance. Exec also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
