Show sets ratings high note for MTV cabler
“The Osbournes” are ready to rock’n’ roll for MTV.
Series’ bow Tuesday night nabbed a 2.8 rating (3.2 million households), the highest ever in channel’s history for a new series premiere, both in households and among people 12-34. Show was also the highest-rated cable program in its timeslot.
Skein lets cameras into the house of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, sending up reality shows and traditional domestic sitcoms. Its early success has thrilled MTV topper Brian Graden.
“It’s that innovative and different,” Graden told Daily Variety. “No matter what angle you’re coming from, you can see yourself in one of the characters.”
“The Osbournes” airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m.
