HOLLYWOOD — Shelly Sumpter has been promoted to vice president of talent for Nickelodeon and Nick Records.
Most recently Sumpter was senior director of talent for Nickelodeon, a post she has held since 1999.
In her new role, the exec will continue to lead Nick’s charge in growing the network’s relationships with both celebrity and musical talent, overseeing day-to-day celeb booking on such projects as the “Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.”
She’ll also manage day-to-day operations and artist relations for Nick Records, a partnership between Nickelodeon and Jive Records. In this new role with Nick Records, she oversees artist development and marketing for Nick recording artists.
Sumpter reports to Paula Kaplan, senior VP of talent for Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land and TNN, as well as to Albie Hecht, prexy of film and TV entertainment for the entities.
