Co. has created programs that include 'Triunfo'

MIAMI — Distrib and production company Tepuy Intl. has nabbed rights to distribute and co-produce Gestmusic Endemol formats in the U.S. Hispanic market and Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The Spanish-lingo territories include Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

Gestmusic Endemol, a division of the Dutch company owned by Spanish telco Telefonica, has developed programs that include the mega-hit music competition “Operacion Triunfo.”

Accord does not cover Mexico, Brazil or Argentina. In Mexico and Brazil, Endemol formed a 50-50 joint venture with broadcasters Televisa and Globo, respectively. In Argentina, local subsid P&P Endemol has been producing formats for broadcasters including Telefonica-owned Telefe.

In May, Endemol announced plans to open an office in Chile that would be run via the Buenos Aires operation.

Tepuy, which has offices in Miami and Madrid, said it is exploring deals to produce or co-produce “Operacion Triunfo” in the U.S., Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Puerto Rico.
