Exec to find, license and remix music tracks

Prominent Los Angeles disc jockey Liza Richardson will take a spin as head of newly created music-supervision and research division for Stimmung, a Santa Monica creative shop specializing in music for commercials.

Richardson, who has spent 11 years at Santa Monica public station KCRW-FM, has held music supervisor positions on films (“The Mothman Prophecies,” “Y Tu Mama Tambien”), TV and commercials (Microsoft’s XP launch, Honda).

Richardson will work with ad agency creatives and broadcast producers seeking to find, license and remix music tracks for their programming. She will continue her KCRW show, “The Drop,” and do music supervision on films.

Stimmung said Richardson’s addition fills out the company’s roster of services for advertising clients.
