Backstreet Boy to perform at MTV's Asia Awards
SINGAPORE — Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is the first act confirmed for MTV’s second Asia Awards to be held Jan. 24.
As in 2002, the ceremony will be broadcast “live” from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and MTV prexy Frank Brown anticipates more international and Asian acts and celebrity presenters to confirm in the coming months.
“The inaugural MTV Asia Awards was a phenomenal achievement that brought together over 100 of the most popular Asian and international music talent selected by 17.8 million online votes.”
Budget was disclosed as “millions of U.S. dollars” with Brown describing the event as profitable. Sponsors include Toyota, Panasonic, San Miguel Beer, Smart Communications and the Singapore Tourism Board.
