Ted Koppel’s “Nightline” interview with Bruce Springsteen will get a second life on A&E.
Interview, which originally aired in July in two parts, will be rebroadcast in its entirety on A&E as a one-hour special Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. Deal was made last week after A&E had announced its Sept. 11 anniversary slate, but net considers the interview an unofficial addition.
In the interview, Springsteen speaks to Koppel about his life, music and new album, “The Rising,” which was in part inspired by the events of Sept. 11. A New Jersey native, Springsteen still lives close to Gotham. Spec also includes a performance of song “Empty Sky,” about the pain of loss.
Although “Third Watch” and “The View” are both on A&E’s sked, net has never before repurposed a news show.
