O Brother, Grammys goose sales

Music Brief

The recent Grammy winners made out like bandits in this past week’s album charts, including the soundtrack to “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” which shot from 15 to second place after getting five awards.

J Records’ diva Alicia Keys and Irish rockers U2 also moved higher after cleaning up at the kudocast.

And even though neo-soul singer India.Arie was shut out in all seven of her Grammy nominations, record buyers still managed to give up their love in the stores: Sales of Arie’s debut “Acoustic Soul” more than doubled, bumping her from 32 to 14 in the rankings.
