‘Carnivale’ drops date

Preem pushed back indefinite, prod'n continues

For the second time, Radio City Entertainment has suspended production on its “Carnivale” stage show.

Originally announced to open in May, the legit extravaganza was first postponed in the wake of the terrorist attacks last September. The opening date was then set for May 2003.

On Thursday, RCE pushed back the preem date indefinitely. Seth Abraham, president of Madison Square Garden/Radio City Entertainment, released the following statement: “Work will continue on the production and we look forward to ‘Carnivale’ opening at a later date.”

The “Carnivale” production, to be directed by Graciela Daniele, had originally been announced in March 2001 as an annual Radio City Music Hall event in the vein of its “Christmas Spectacular.”
