David Schwimmer, Tom Everett Scott, Jonathan Silverman, John Di Maggio and Jaime Ray Newman will star in the world premiere of “Turnaround” at the 99-seat Coast Playhouse. Play opens Jan. 22 and runs six weeks.
“Turnaround” is Roger Kumble’s third play in a Hollywood trilogy that he began in 1993 with “Pay or Play,” which starred Silverman. Kumble wrote and directed l999’s “Cruel Intentions” and early this year directed “The Sweetest Thing” with Cameron Diaz.
Kumble’s other previous play was 1997’s “d-girl,” which starred Schwimmer.
“Turnaround” follows a collection of friends in their mid-30s, dealing with such Hollywood issues as success, envy, backstabbing and “go” movies.
Tom Hodges is producing the play and Dark Harbor Stories is presenting. Bonnie Zane has handled the casting.
