‘Zodiac’ zips to producers

Script focuses on police officer obsessed with serial killer

HOLLYWOOD — Romano Shane Prods. and Permut Presentations have optioned “Zodiac,” a story about the Zodiac Killer written by George Gallo and Brad Johnson.

Script takes the point of view of a fictional police officer who was obsessed with catching the serial killer.

“Zodiac” was developed by David Permut, who brought it to Anthony Romano and Michel Shane to seek financing.

Permut is currently prepping “Providence” starring Matthew Broderick for Walt Disney Prods.

Gallo most recently penned the sequels for “The Whole Nine Yards” and “The Santa Clause.”

Romano and Shane are executive producers of DreamWorks’ upcoming “Catch Me If You Can.”
