Blaugrund to o'see film, TV development

HOLLYWOOD — Jed Blaugrund is ready to rumble for WWE.

The former Mostow/Lieberman exec has been named VP of production for the newly formed WWE Films division.

To be based in WWE’s Los Angeles office, Blaugrund will be responsible for developing movie and television projects for WWE Films and will report to WWE Films prexy Joel Simon.

“Jed’s background and passion for movies makes him perfectly suited to develop and produce movies for us,” Simon said. “His writer relationships and creative instincts are stellar.”

Blaugrund comes to WWE from the Universal Studios-based Mostow/Lieberman banner, where he was also a VP of production. Reporting to company principals Jonathan Mostow (“Breakdown,” “U-571,” and “T3: Rise of the Machines”) and Hal Lieberman, Blaugrund supervised development of the company’s slate of projects.

“I look forward to making films that appeal to not only our loyal fans, but to moviegoers worldwide,” Blaugrund said.

Previously, Blaugrund was a creative executive at Turner Pictures, working on such pics as “Michael” and “City of Angels.”
