Warner Sogefilms taps Posner

Appointment marks exec's return to Spain

MADRID — One of Spain’s top young producers in the mid-90s, Enrique Posner, is returning to the country as deputy general manager of Warner Sogefilms, the theatrical distribution joint venture created in 1998 by Warners and Spanish conglom Sogecable.

Posner will supervise Warners’ distribution and marketing activities in Spain, reporting to Warner Sogefilms general manager Luis Hernandez de Carlos. In a parallel move, longtime Warners exec David Colyer has been upped to executive director, marketing and strategic planning.

Posner was one of the first producers in Spain to pioneer English-lingo pics, producing Jim McBride’s “Uncovered” (1994). He left Spain five years ago to work as CEO, Central America for Convergence Communications USA and then as chairman and CEO of ThinkChain, a producer of internet software applications.
