Shalit upped at New Line

Vet to continue e-commerce initiatives

NEW YORK — New Line Cinema has promoted Nevin Shalit to senior VP of new media projects, reporting in the company’s Gotham offices to Jim Rosenthal, president of New Line Television.

Shalit, who has been with the company 10 years and has contributed to the marketing of such films as “Hoop Dreams” and “Shine,” will continue to oversee New Line’s e-commerce initiatives such as and, as well as the studio’s auction site,

“Nevin’s intelligence and ingenuity, coupled with his affinity for the evolving tastes of our online community, are tremendously beneficial to the studio,” Rosenthal said.

“The work of his group has contributed substantially to our marketing efforts and represents a successful e-commerce model that raises awareness of our films and inspires brand loyalty for our properties,” he continued sells merchandise for properties such as “Austin Powers” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” and, Warner Bros.’ official online shop, sells licensed merchandise for properties including “Harry Potter” films and Looney Tunes animation.

Shalit was a photojournalist whose work ran in such publications as the New York Times and Village Voice before he joined New Line.
