Kudofest moved to Feb. 22 due to BAFTA conflict
HOLLYWOOD — The Screen Actors Guild has moved its 2004 awards ceremony two weeks later to Feb. 22 from Feb. 8, avoiding a direct conflict with the British Academy of Film & Television Arts awards.
“We are pleased that the Feb. 22 date has become available, enabling us to move the 10th Annual SAG Awards to a later date in the awards season and avoid a potential conflict for actors who wish to attend events scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 7-8, 2004,” said Yale Summers, chair of the SAG awards committee.
SAG usually holds its awards show on the second Sunday in March, two weeks before the Academy Awards, but this summer’s decision by the Academy of Motion Picture & Television Arts to shift its 2004 ceremonies to Feb. 29 has required other orgs to stake out other dates.
SAG also said the 2004 show will again take place at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center and air on Turner Network Television.
