World Brief

Peter Rose signed on Monday as exec VP of programming and marketing at the Premium Movie Partnership, the Oz movie channels co-venture owned by Paramount, Vivendi Universal, Sony, 20th Century Fox and Liberty Media.

Rose was a contender for the CEO post, which went to Jack Matthews, a U.S. cable vet who formerly ran Telstra Saturn in New Zealand.

He will report to Matthews, who negotiated Rose’s hiring. Rose was in charge of marketing at United Intl. Pictures in London for 3½ years, and before that worked for the now-defunct pay TV platform Australis.
