NEW YORK — Sony Pictures has snapped up the supernatural thriller “The Price,” penned by Alex Sokoloff and Kimball Greenough, for Laura Ziskin to produce.
Marc Evans of Laura Ziskin Prods brought the script into the shingle and will oversee it for the company. Columbia’s exec veep of production Matt Tolmach and VP Rachel O’Connor will shepherd the project for the studio, reporting to prexy of production Peter Schlessel.
Sony is being tight-lipped about the storyline for “The Price,” saying only that it is a supernatural thriller set in a hospital.
Sokoloff worked in the inner city with emotionally disturbed and incarcerated teenagers; Greenough has worked as a journalist specializing in occult studies, with field experience in remote parts of the world.
Repped by Gersh and Mediachase, Sokoloff and Greenough adapted Laura Reese’s thriller “Topping From Below” for Touchstone.
Ziskin produced the forthcoming “Spider-Man” for the Sony and the Oscars for ABC-TV.
