Par moves on ‘Norfolk’

Studio nabs Polish brothers' feature

NEW YORK — Paramount Classics has beaten several other suitors for English-lingo and Latin American rights to Michael and Mark Polish’s feature “Northfolk.”

Pic, which stars Nick Nolte, James Woods, Anthony Edwards and Daryl Hannah, screened for acquisitions execs this week before Paramount made the definitive offer.

In “Northfolk,” a town is destined to disappear underwater forever with the construction of a new dam. Salesmen compete to convince longtime residents to abandon their homesteads. Meanwhile, a dying orphan dreams of escape with a band of eccentrics who are actually angels.

Michael Polish, who made “Twin Falls Idaho” with his brother Mark, helmed “Northfolk” solo. Mark co-starred. The brothers were repped by Endeavor and attorney Paul Mayersohn.
