McTiernan’s ‘Booster’ shot

Helmer to tackle Turner-penned heist pic

John McTiernan is in negotiations to direct “The Booster” for Intermedia Films and Mark Johnson Prods.

Written by Sheldon Turner, “Booster” is an adaptation of the Eugene Izzi novel about two legendary thieves who reunite during a winter storm to rob the 91st floor of the Sears Tower — from the outside.

Louis DiGiamo (“Donnie Brasco”) produces with Johnson.

McTiernan, who’s repped by CAA, recently wrapped “Basic” starring John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson for Intermedia. That title will be released by Columbia Pictures early next year.

Turner, who’s repped by Endeavor and Benderspink Management is also adapting Alice Blanchard’s upcoming novel “The Breathtaker” for Warner Bros.-based John Wells Prods.

Johnson, who most recently produced Disney’s hit “The Rookie,” also produced Fox Searchlight’s upcoming “The Banger Sisters” and the Touchstone Pictures/Hyde Park Entertainment production “Moonlight Mile.”
