Longtime Film Society of New York exec director Joanne Koch will retire in June 2003, handing over the reins to Claudia Bonn, org’s director of administration and development.
Announcement was made Friday night during the opening ceremonies of the 40th New York Film Festival.
Koch has held her position since 1976. She will remain project director for Lincoln Center’s redevelopment project, which involves the construction of two new theaters. Koch will also continue on as exec VP of the Film Society’s board of directors.
During her tenure, Koch helped create the New Directors/New Films Festival and supervised the creation of the Film Society’s Lincoln Center headquarters at the Walter Reade Theater.
Bonn joined the Film Society in 1993.
