Imagine producer to earn Humanitarian kudos

Imagine Entertainment chair Brian Grazer will receive the 2002 Help Humanitarian Award at the Teddy Bear Picnic, the annual spring Luncheon of the Help Group, an organization serving children with autism, mental retardation, development problems and other disabilities.

Event, chaired by Vivendi Universal Entertainment chief operations officer Ron Meyer and Universal Pictures chair Stacey Snider, will take place June 6 at the BevHilton.

“We are delighted to recognize Brian’s long-standing commitment to our organization and to helping children with special needs,” said Help Group CEO Dr. Barbara Firestone.

In past years, the Help Group has honored California Gov. Gray Davis and first lady Sharon Davis, Steve Tisch, Quincy Jones, James L. Brooks, Irving Azoff, former L.A. mayor Richard Riordan, Snider and others.

Last year, org served more than 5,000 children and families at L.A.’s Sherman Oaks, Valley Glen, Culver City and Van Nuys campuses.

“This past year, I’ve had the good fortune to receive several important awards,” Grazer said, “but I am especially proud and honored to be receiving this award from this wonderful organization that has done so much for children with all types of challenges.”
