H’w’d impact set for panel

Event to be Dec. 5 in Beverly Hills

The Writers Guild of America West has set a panel discussion for Thursday to examine the role of American entertainment around the world.

Panelists include Aaron Sorkin, writer-creator of “The West Wing”; Laura Ziskin, producer of “Spider-Man”; Bryce Zabel, chairman-CEO, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; Rep. Diane Watson, D-Los Angeles; Norm Pattiz, chairman of Westwood One; Salam Al-Marayati, director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council; and writer-director-producers Tony Bui and Alfonso Cuaron.

The event is open to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Writers Guild Theater, 135 S. Doheny, Beverly Hills.
